Writing For Artists: Grant Writing
(3/3) a practical, workshop style writing course hosted virtually on May 17th, 7-9:30pm
Service Description
This workshop will focus on the basics of grant writing and its relationship to persuasive essay writing. It will go over how to define your project and demonstrate your ability to complete it, building on elements from the exhibition proposal class. Participants are welcome to bring their work in progress grant applications to the workshop, and each participant will have the opportunity to have their writing workshopped in class. In addition, I can give written feedback after the course via email. This three part course meets once a month in March, April, and May to go over three common assignments for artists: the artist statement, the exhibition proposal, and the grant application. We'll go over writing structures and other hallmarks of clarity and good writing, including how to express yourself uniquely. We'll keep cameras on and have a discussion style class. If for any reason you feel uncomfortable with this or need support for accessibility, please write a line about this when you email to sign up.
